All right don't shoot me here is more!!

All right....here is everything else i have written....i hope to have more soon!

Lord Lucas was standing on the cliffs overlooking the choppy water pound into the rocks below, and wondered why Addison was now lying in a bed inches from death. Life could be so horrid. This morning he had been playing cards with his friends. As soon as his manservant John interrupted, Alexander knew something was very wrong. Worry for his land and tenants had rushed through his mind. When John had said his betrothed had fallen from a horse he never believed it. She was the best horsewoman he had ever met. What if someone was going after her to get to him? He would never forgive himself if anything happened to her because of her.

“Lord Lucas come quick! Lady Addison is awake.” Turning towards his manservant, Alexander asked “How long has she been awake?”

“Only a few moments. I am not even sure the Lady will be awake when we return.”

“Alright John, we may go. I will be going to speak to Henry to make sure that our agreement is still intact.” The two men started walking towards a large house barely visible in the distance.

“Your agreement, My Lord?”

“Yes, my betrothal to his daughter in return for all his land and money upon his death. Our wedding was to be in a fortnight, however; it appears we may have to change the date depending on how well his daughter is recovering.”

“May I speak freely sir?”

“Yes, John what is it?”

“Should you not be calling Lady Worthington by her given name if you are to be married in a fortnight?”

“Aye. If it was a normal betrothal, however; you know that it is not. This marriage is a benefit to both Henry and I.”

“What of the future Lady Lucas?”

“Lady Worthington is looking forward to the match. What lady does not want to be Lady Lucas? Do you not remember the madams all but forcing their daughters at me last season? There is another benefit for me. I know longer have to escort young pups around the dance floor making ridiculous small talk. At least Henry’s daughter is an intelligent Lady.”

“Ah sire you really need to work on referring to her as Lady Addison or even Lady Worthington.”

“There will be plenty of time for that when she is my wife John.”

“Is she everything you want for in a wife?”

“Aye, she is not a great beauty, but is at least lovely. She is smart, well read, musically inclined, and will make a good mother someday.”

“Ah, but where is the passion and love my Lord?”

“The passion will come, and love is for the weak.”

“Love is not for the weak. Your father loved your mother with such a passion. They were two halves of a whole. Do you not want to find that?”

“Aye two halves of a whole such that he could not live a week after she died. I do not want to have to live with the pain of a broken heart.”

“That is no excuse. They were both very old and ill when they died.”

Realizing that he was losing the debate Lord Lucas turned toward the estate, and said “We are here. Go check on the horses. Then come and find me in Lord Worthington’s study. I will inform you then if we are to be staying or returning to the estate at Woodbridge.” The conversation was over and John went to perform his tasks. However, as Lord Lucas entered the house and started in the direction of Henry’s study, he could not help and wonder about the things John had said. Should he show more interest in Addison? Was he missing out on something great by not giving love a chance. Could he come to love Addison? He stopped. Love Addison? Impossible! It would give his enemies an advantage, and would put her in too much danger.

“Ah, Alexander my boy! You are just in time Addison is waking up. It is such a miracle. I was so afraid I was going to lose her.”

“Lord Henry. This is such great news.” He said with more enthusiasm than he actually felt. “Is she up for taking visitors?” Just then a doctor came out of a door farther down the hallway. “Ah Doctor, How is she doing?”

“The lady is recovering very well physically. However, I am not sure about her mental recovery. She seems to have hit her head. When speaking to her, she became very confused and thought that the year was 2007 and that her parents were dead. She is awake but resting. You may go in and see her but please try to keep from upsetting her.”

“Will she be well enough in time for the wedding?”

“It is hard to tell. Physically I believe she will be well by tomorrow, however; mentally it could take anywhere from hours to years maybe never.”Turning toward Lord Worthington he directed the next comments to him. “I will be back tomorrow evening to check on her progress. I suggest she stay in bed until then.”

“Good day Doctor thank you for coming so quickly.” Lord Henry then turned to Lord Lucas. “I will give you some time alone with her. Her mother and I will be in the sitting room whenever you wish to discuss arrangements for the next few days.”

Lord Henry walked down the hallway and Lord Lucas turned to enter into Lady Addison’s room.

Love ya lots,
